Each Sea to Summit tent includes a short tube packed inside the peg/guyline bag — this is a repair splint for field repairs to your tent poles.
If a pole segment bends or breaks, simply:
- Slide the splint over the damaged section of the pole.
- Secure it with repair tape if you have some on hand.
If you don’t have tape, center the splint directly over the damaged area when assembling the poles – the natural curve of the poleset should help hold it in place.
When you return home, contact your Sea to Summit service team for your region, and they’ll help arrange a replacement pole segment.
Important note on pole care
Ultralight tents – including the Alto, Telos, and Ikos – should always be guyed out in winds or gusts over 20 mph to prevent pole damage. This applies to all ultralight tents with hubbed pole designs, not just Sea to Summit models.
