All down used in Sea to Summit sleeping bags is batch-tested by the International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL), an independent third-party lab.
The IDFL provides a detailed report that shows:
- The percentage of down plumes vs. feathers
- The percentage of quills
- The percentage of broken or damaged feathers (typically 0.1% or less)
- The fill power of the down sample
We guarantee that every bag contains down that meets or exceeds the listed fill power for that model. For instance, for Spark sleeping bags, this would be a minimum of 850 cu. in / ounce (or 850+ fillpower)
The IDFL report ensures full transparency, taking the mystery out of down insulation and confirming the exact composition and quality of what’s inside your sleeping bag.
