There are two common reasons a sleeping bag may no longer loft:
-
Moisture: If the insulation is damp, it won’t loft properly. Always make sure your bag is completely dry before packing or storing. Drying with a few clean tennis balls can help restore loft.
-
Dirt and oils: Grime, sweat, and salt from your skin can build up on down plumes or synthetic fibers, weighing them down and reducing loft.
