We recommend storing all sleeping mats – both Air Sprung Cell and Self-Inflating models – with the valves open, either laid out as flat as possible or hung over a closet rail. This allows any moisture (such as condensed breath) inside the mat to dry out fully.
If you need to reduce the size for storage, it’s better to roll or fold the mat loosely rather than compressing it tightly. This helps protect the insulation or foam in the long term.
