A Frontier Pot/Kettle or an X-Pot/X-Kettle can be used on:
- Two-burner camping stoves
- Domestic gas or electric stoves
- RV radiant stoves
However, the thin-gauge aluminum base of these items will conduct heat much faster than standard cookware. For this reason, it's important to:
- Always use lower heat settings.
-
Never allow the pot to boil dry – this can warp the base or cause it to separate from the silicone walls.
Tips for safe cooking:
- When cooking grains (rice, couscous, etc.), turn the stove off 3-4 minutes before they’re done. They’ll finish cooking in the hot water without risk of burning or boiling dry.
- Keep kettle handles upright during cooking to avoid heat damage.
- On two-burner stoves, the windshield creates an area of higher temperature at the back of the stove. Keep the flame low to prevent damage to handles and lids
Not compatible with induction cooktops: Frontier and X-Series cookware will not work on induction surfaces. Learn more on our induction compatible cookware here.
