Both the Watercell ST and Watercell X are made from EU food-grade, BPA and PVC-free materials.
Both have RF (radio frequency) welded seams and an internal baffle that keeps their rectangular shape even when full – making them perfect for stacking!
Both models also include a welded fill handle and multiple lash points for carrying and securing.
Key Differences
Materials & Durability
-
- Watercell ST: Made from TPU film rugged enough for backpacking. Semi-translucent with printed fill lines on the exterior.
- Watercell X: TPU film laminated with 400D nylon that's stronger, but heavier.
Attachment Points
-
- Watercell ST: Die-cut grab handles on the sides.
- Watercell X: TPU straps running around three sides for added versatility.
Cap & Functionality
-
- Watercell ST: Simple 63mm screw-on cap.
- Watercell X: 63mm screw-on cap with removable internal spigot. Includes an optional mini showerhead attachment.
Which one should I choose?
If you are backpacking, the lighter Watercell ST may well be your choice. If you are paddling, car camping or overlanding (especially if you want to convert your water storage into a shower), the Watercell X is probably the better option.
