In 2024, Frontier Collapsible Tableware was introduced to replace the existing X-Bowls and X-Plates.
X-Tableware was often used - flipped over - as a practical cutting board. The base of an X-Bowl or X-Plate was flat, and the nylon surface was at the same level as the collapsed silicone rubber sidewalls. Here's a cross-section of a flipped-over X-Bowl:
Can a Frontier Collapsible Bowl also be used as a cutting board?
Frontier Bowls have a base which curves upwards at the rim. the nylon surface is also a little lower than the collapsed silicone rubber sidewalls. Here's a cross-section of a flipped-over Frontier Bowl:
You can use the base of a Frontier Bowl as a cutting board - you just need to take particular care that the knife blade does not come into contact with the collapsed silicone rubber sidewalls.
