(Please see the notes on materials at the end of this article)
Alto - semi free-standing
Alto TR 1 and Alto TR 2
- the regular versions of the Alto have have mesh interior walls for maximum airflow in warmer conditions and stargazing on cloud-free nights. They have 1200mm 15D nylon floors
Alto TR 1 Plus and Alto TR 2 Plus
- the Plus versions of the Alto have 20D nylon walls, which keep cold drafts from getting into the inner tent. Vents in the doors and apex can be opened for more ventilation. They have 2500mm 20D nylon floors
Telos - free-standing (includes Telos Bikepack)
Telos TR 2 and Telos TR 3
- the regular and Bikepack versions of the Telos have mesh interior walls which provide greater ventilation in the summer and stargazing on clear nights. They have 2500mm 20D nylon floors
TR 2 Plus and TR 3 Plus
- the Plus versions of the Telos have 20D nylon walls with unzippable vents in the doors and apex, so they are more suitable for conditions where a cold wind might come under the rainfly. They have 4000mm 30D nylon floors
Materials
- The mesh used in all of our tents is no-see-um proof
- Numbers followed by the letter 'D' above (for instance, 15D) represent the denier of the fabric. Denier is simply a measure of thread weight: 9000 meters of the thread measured in grams. It does not indicate thread count, or measure tear strength/abrasion resistance. For those unfamiliar with the metric system, if you took 5.5 miles of the yarn used to make a 15D fabric it would weigh half an ounce.
- Numbers followed by 'mm' (for instance, 2500mm) represent the hydrostatic head of the fabric. Hydrostatic head is a measure of the height of a column of water that would force its way through the weave of a fabric and any coating/film applied to the fabric. The higher the number, the more waterproof the fabric. 2500mm = 8.25 feet
